The Bregenzerwald provides 300 km of cross country skiing runs. They pass icy rivers, snowy woods, wide snowfields and the typical Austrian clapboard houses.  The most popular routes are: in Sulzberg and Hittisau you cross the border the Germany. The longest routes are: Hittisau – Balderschwang (72 km), Sulzberg mit 70 km and Au-Schoppernau (40 km). You have the choice between skatings runs and classical runs.

The Bregenzerwald provides ca. 400 km of winter trails on a height of 500 to 2000 m. They are signposted with pink signs, that are visiable in the snow.

Sibratsgfäll - Schönebach
Time of travel from Gasthof Adler: car 20min, bus 30min
The 18 km route from Sibratsgfäll to Schönenbach an back can be done in about 4 hours.


Au-Schoppernau to Bergkristall-Hütte
Time of travel from Gasthof Adler: car 20min, bus 30min
Height: 1.200 m.Very nice walk through the quiet and lovely Dürrenbachtal to the Bergkristallhütte. You cross the high and rocky Zitterklapfenstock.
You walk back the same way - or you take your slegde with you. Walking time: ca. 3,5 hrs.

If you want to make a advanced winter walk up to the high mountains, this is also possible. If you are experienced you can walk alone, but we would be happy to assist you with hiring a guide.

Only 3 min from our Hotel is the Health Center  Aquamountain. It offers a real El Dorado of relaxation. The center provides a swimming area, a sauna area, a beautycenter and it's possible to book massages. Ask for more information at our reception.

The cheese street is a part of the Bregenzerwälder cheese area - Lingenau is also part of it.
The cheese cellar is the newest attraction o fLingenau. You can try our famous cheese and see how it is produced. The methodes used, are very authentical and the cheese is really tasty.
